Equine-Assisted Riding Sessions
Horseback riding for adults and children with disabilities is recognized as one of the more progressive forms of therapeutic recreation. The ability to control a horse as well as one’s own body inspires self- confidence, responsibility and teamwork. Best of all, it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience, which creates a special relationship between rider and horse and pro- motes personal growth and achievement.

Some benefits of equine assisted therapeutic activities include:
  • Increased core muscle tone
  • Increased strength and flexibility
  • Increased self-esteem and self confidence
STEP Program
STEP stands for Student Transition Enrichment Program. This is a newer program out at the ranch and we are so excited to see it blossom. The STEP program provides a temporary, tailored work opportunity for disadvantaged or at risk high school and college aged students to learn the basic requirements for meaningful employment.

This program wouldnt have started without the continued support and partnership from the Eastern Oklahoma Country Technology Center.

Community Events
The Ranch opens its doors to local organizations such as Sooner Success and Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma (DSACO) to use our facilities to host their own events. If you are interested in learning more about our facilities, please get in touch - we would love to have you!

Hope Retreat Ranch also hosts its own annual event in April coinciding with Cowboy Poetry Week. This is a FREE cowboy themed event aimed at bringing the community together for a family friendly, outdoor event.
